Signpro Design Information
Typical Sign Makeup
1. Sign filler, also known as sign cabinet, forms the main structure of an     illuminated sign. The filler houses the electrical components, and is the     joining area from which the sign is suspended or secured to posts or     beams. On the filler sits the face frames, which support the sign graphic     surface. Fillers vary depending on a) sign type, b) sign size, c) structural     requirements, and d) sign depth.

Selecting a Filler consider:

A - Sign type: e.g. free standing two sides visible, see double faced signs.      Wall mount storefront, see single faced signs.
B - Sign size: larger signs require windload and material expansion and      contraction considerations, see filler design guidelines.
C - Structural requirements: each filler is designed to be fabricated to a      maximum surface area. Signs exceeding these parameters would require      structural reinforcement or selection of a wider filler. Wider fillers are      structurally stronger to withstand greater windloads and accommodate      larger internal posts.
D - Sign depth: filler depth varies mainly for structural reasons, but sign      depth can also be used to enhance sign's overall proportions.

2. Face frames hold the graphic. They vary depending on a) sign size, b)     sign type or sign face material.

Selecting a Face Frame consider:

A - Sign size: larger signs require different frames for material expansion      and structural considerations.
B - Sign type and sign face material:

- Acrylic plastic or polycarbonate
- Fiber reinforced flexible vinyl face material
- Aluminum or laminated aluminum sheet
- Track mounted changeable letters

Finish: Sign cabinet and face frame are finished [as indicated by the last digit of the part #. For custom finishes use 0 and specify the custom color or process].

XXX0 = Mill Finish
XXX1 = Clear Anodized
